What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I have always loved working with children and have always been inspired by their resilience and imagination. I started off as a behavioral therapist for children with autism and fell in love with working with families through some of their toughest times. I continued on as a NICU nurse and my love grew for working with at-risk babies and providing support and education for their wonderful parents. I have always been passionate about preventative medicine and family education and have now found my home in pediatric primary pare.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
- As a former NICU nurse, I am uniquely positioned to work with premature babies and all newborns and their families.
- I have experience working closely with children with autism and understand the importance of building trust within the family.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
I focus on building trust through listening, empathy, and positive communication to explore patient management options that emphasize family-centered care.
