What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
My favorite animated movie is Moana.
What is your favorite children's book?
Any Berenstein Bear Books. My daughters loved to listen to them, especially at bedtime.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Cabbage patch dolls. My grandmother made clothes for them, and I loved changing their outfits.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My daughters. They have chosen to enter the field of social work to become therapists. It inspires me that they both also want to work in a field that cares for other people.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Walking, biking, reading, baking, trying new recipes and new restaurants.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I enjoy following patients through their childhood to adulthood. I enjoy growing with the children and with their families. It is fun to watch the families grow together as a unit.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I enjoy meeting new families, of both newborns and new families to the practice. It is fun to engage the children and the parents in conversation about what is going on in their lives, outside of the medical reason for their visit to the office. I have an interest in helping families who are dealing with mental health diagnoses of their children - ADHD, anxiety, eating disorders, depression.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
I have seen patients with various genetic diagnoses and with a variety of mental health diagnoses through my practice.
