Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My mother is my greatest inspiration, both in life and as a Physician Assistant. She's the most caring, loving, and resilient person I know. No matter what challenges life has thrown her way, she’s faced them with unwavering strength, a positive attitude, and deep faith. She’s been my rock and my biggest supporter through all the various stages of my life. She has taught me the power of perseverance and the importance of caring for others with kindness and empathy.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I have a passion for traveling and love exploring new places, cultures, and cuisines. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, whether hiking, walking, hammocking, picnicking, or simply relaxing in nature. Some of my favorite moments are those spent with my labradoodle, Flash, and quality time with my loved ones.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
My inspiration to work in pediatrics stems from a deep passion for supporting children and their families through every stage of growth and development. I’ve always been drawn to the resilience, innocence, honesty, and joy that children bring into the world. As a Physician Assistant, I find it incredibly rewarding to build trusting relationships with both young patients and their families by helping to educate, comfort, and empower them through both routine care and more challenging moments. The opportunity to make a positive impact early in a child’s life, and to be part of their long-term health journey, is my main inspiration.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I strive to bring a unique blend of positivity, resilience, and integrity to patient care. My fun and approachable nature helps put patients at ease, creating a more comfortable and trusting environment. Resilience allows me to thrive in high-pressure situations, staying calm and dependable when it matters most. Above all, I lead with honesty through building strong relationships through transparency and a deep commitment to doing what's right for my patients and team. As a person of color, I strive to bring cultural insight and representation that strengthens patient connection and supports more inclusive, personalized care.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
Overall, my goal for all my patients is always to meet them where they are and to empower them and their families with empathy, patience, and respect. I’m committed to providing inclusive, compassionate, and individualized care for all patients, including those with disabilities. I take time to understand each child’s unique needs, whether physical, developmental, or sensory—and adapt my communication, examination techniques, and environment to help them feel safe and supported
