What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
Aladdin, Spongebob, and The Flintstones
What is your favorite children's book and why?
To The Moon and Back because my kids knew it by heart!
What was your favorite childhood toy?
LEGOs
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My parents, but really many people who I have been able to learn from.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Mazda Miata's (top down), Golf, regular exercise (it has changed over the years, but the consistency is what I like)
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
A child I cared for as a student who was being treated for leukemia and he lived in the hospital as his parents could not take care of him.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I have always taken care of the most complicated patients and done my best for them as a primary care doctor and care coordinator. I focus on trying to provide everything possible for their families to get what they need to be able to take care of them at home.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
My entire career has been devoted to caring for children with complex special needs. Later in my career it has included more adults with special needs as they struggle to find adult PCP's to take care of them. So that became a necessity. Our practice has been known as the largest private practice in the country for patients with special needs.
