What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?

What is your favorite children's book and why?
My favorite books when I was younger were "The Pokey Little Puppy" and"Courdoroy". My niece and I love reading the series by Mo Willems including "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus."
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Red Fraggle from Fraggle Rock or any other Muppets
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My grandfather Alois (Al) never knew a stranger. He had a joke or a pun for every occasion. He loved his family fiercely and made sure that everyone he interacted with left with a smile and joy to carry through the rest of their day. I strive to bring as much joy to people as he did!
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Traveling, spending time with my family and my one eyed rescue dog, going to concerts
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
When I was around 4-5 years old, I was admitted to the hospital and was terrified of doctors and needles. One morning, around 6am, the nurse came in to draw my labs and asked what flavor of popsicle was my favorite. I was so excited to get a cherry popsicle for breakfast that I barely even noticed them drawing my labs! That has always stuck with me and I strive to give my patients the same level of care and comfort so that coming to the doctor's office is not so scary.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I am a dual board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (primary care and acute care) with over 20 years of experience providing care for infants, childrens and teens. I strive to make every patient and family feel like they are they are my main priority for the day. I actively listen to their questions and concerns in order to provide individualized care and treatment plans through shared decision making. I am passionate about education, understanding that optimal care requires close coordination with the parents and the child. I also aim to make every visit fun and enjoyable!
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
I am passionate about working with children with special needs and supporting a medical home that fosters communication between primary care and specialty care to ensure that all of the child's needs are appropriately med. I have extensive experience in both primary care and acute care settings which allows me to provide the utmost quality and evidence based care to those with complex medical needs.
