YOUR VISIT
Newborn visits
Every newborn baby deserves a healthy start
Newborn visits are the beginning of your baby’s care
Welcome to the Arbor Pediatrics family
A head-to-toe health check for your newborn
During your newborn visit, we will perform a thorough physical examination of your baby, check their developmental milestones, and assess their weight, feeding, sleeping, and voiding (stooling) habits. If you need advice or have medical questions, this visit is the perfect place to ask them.
We will also review your hospital or birthing center discharge papers to make sure all necessary screenings and vaccines are complete (including a newborn screening/PKU, hearing test, and hepatitis B vaccine) and talk about future appointments and vaccines with you.
Keeping your baby safe and protected
All newborn visits at Arbor Pediatrics are scheduled first thing in the morning or first thing in the afternoon to minimize your baby’s exposure to other children. You will go directly to an exam room when you arrive or wait in a designated well visit area if no exam room is available. Please remember to bring your hospital or birthing center discharge papers, driver’s license, and insurance card with you.
Before you leave the office, we will schedule your baby’s next set of appointments to ensure they continue meeting their milestones and get all necessary vaccines — building a healthy relationship from the start.
